Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 2-day trek

Our short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is a fantastic option for those who don’t want to hike the long classic Inca trail. Our Short Inca trail tour is short in distance, but not in adventure.

If you were left with the desire to do the classic Inca Trail tour of 4 days 3 nights, and you were surprised that the quotas were exhausted. Doing the Inca Trail 2 days 1 night is the only tour that will allow you to travel part of what is covered in the route of 4 days 3 nights. You reach Machu Picchu through the gate of the sun (Inti Punku). In this tour you will combine the trip by train and walk where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery throughout the first day. We will visit Machu Picchu the second day.

This two-day route to Machu Picchu is considered one of the best hikes in the world, because it includes one of the most adventurous trails in the world, the Inca Trail. It has an exquisite natural beauty of incomparable Andean and jungle landscapes.

We recommend this route, because you will have a connection with all the flora, fauna, and geography of the area. Finding desert places and tropical places with mysterious archeological complexes, covered with immense vegetation.

Finally, we will arrive at the lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu. Where you will receive the respective guide inside the citadel, assuring us that you have a pleasant, unforgettable and safe trip.

Why are there no Porters?
Since this is a one-day hike without camping, porters are not provided. You’ll need to carry your own day pack with essentials for the evening and the next day at Machu Picchu. If you prefer to have a porter, we can arrange one for an additional fee based on the weight of your bag. Please request this service at the time of booking, as porters require permits.

Do you have any other things to do in Aguas Calientes?
There are hot springs, which offers a nice relaxing after your day of hiking. We recommend going there after your dinner.

What do I have to bring?

  • Your entrance tickets, if they are not provided by our guide
  • Your passport (need to enter Machu Picchu, the Hike and the train back to Cusco)
  • at least 2 liters of water for the hike

Something I have to be aware of?
There is nearly no shadow on the 2.5 hour tour through Machu Picchu. We recommend enough to drink, strong sun cream (50+) and a hat which protects your face and neck.
